Turning the Tragedy of the Commons into a Public Good

A LAUNCH PAD FOR THE WORLD AS IT COULD BE

A collective of passionate, ambitious, and competent partners who are deeply offended by the phrases “Oh well” and “That’s too hard,” Unicorn Strategies recognizes the difference between never been seen before and non-existent, unexplored and impossible, effortful and too hard, unconventional and unnecessary.

US embraces well-understood chaotic good to build whole universes where others see empty wastelands.

HOW US WORKS

We’re basically the ‘Imagineers’ of national security.

Our projects start in one of three ways:

  1. A problem set we are losing sleep over. For example,

    • Lack of competent diversity, and therefore mission readiness and effectiveness, in national security and defense

    • Deteriorating Rule of Law in the western hemisphere

    • Dysfunctional crisis response, continuity of operations, and watch floors across society

    • Inefficient and ineffective security clearance processes, and the resulting insider threat risk and understaffing

    • Hungry and injured people and animals in Ukraine

    • Political prisoners in Belarus

  2. An adventure we want to go on. for example,

    • What would it mean to build an embassy in the metaverse? What could that Embassy do, and who could it reach?

    • Can Dungeons and Dragons teams save the world, or at least make us more resilient?

    • What would it look like to make national security and defense issues interesting, relevant, and accessible for more millennial and gen-z women in America?

  3. A version of the future we can’t let go of. for example,

    • Protecting US-based intellectual property, counter disinformation on social media, strengthen democratic ideals and help democratic activists better engage with their communities all at the same time.

    • A trusted capital network made exclusively of national security professionals, enabling them to build greater financial stability thereby combatting significant insider threat risk and eliminating adversarial capital.
